TBT: Turnip Chips! Yes, Really!

An oldie but a goodie, dug up from the archives...

When I am watching a movie or I get bored late at night, I like to snack. I like to pick on foods that are terrible for me. Cookies, candy, Ruffle Chips! RUFFLES. I simply am unable to have Ruffles in my house because if I did, I would eat them all in one sitting. True story.

While snacking on so banana chips (not Ruffles), something occurred to me. I had a huge bag of turnips in the fridge and I had to do something with them. I wondered how they would be seasoned and dehydrated!? Only one way to find out!

Easy Peasy Turnip Chips:

  • I washed a couple of turnips and sliced them evenly with my mandolin.
  • Next I tossed them around in a bowl with a very small amount of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
  • Then I placed the pieces on the dehydrator racks and sprinkled a little of my favorite seasonings on them.
  • I let them go for about 8 hours or so... but if you are making these, you really want to check on them because the time will vary depending upon how thin you slice them.

That's it! And for the record, they turned out so good!! Not pretty, but still yummy!

easy, peasy, done!
